UNEDITED NEWS RELEASE — ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — President Bill Clinton will attend Ouachita Baptist University Inauguration Week activities honoring Ouachita's 15th president, Dr. Rex M. Horne, Jr.
President Clinton will participate in the Birkett Williams Lecture series during Inauguration Week.
Inauguration Week activities are scheduled to begin on Sunday, March 25, culminating in the Inaugural Convocation on Thursday, March 29, at 10 a.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center on the university campus.
President Bill Clinton will deliver the Birkett Williams Lecture on Monday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center. The lecture is part of an annual academic lecture series named in honor of 1910 Ouachita alumnus Birkett Williams. The lecture is open to the public, and admission is free.
On Tuesday, March 27, the university will host “The Rock and the Rabbi,” an off-Broadway musical and Celebrity Attractions production which appeared in Little Rock last fall. The musical will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center. Tickets will be available to the public beginning Monday, February 19.
Following the Inaugural Convocation on Thursday morning, the university will host a reception in honor of President and Mrs. Horne in Grant Plaza. The public is welcome to attend the Convocation and the reception.
Finally, Ouachita students plan to honor Horne by participating in Tiger Serve Day, a community service event, on Saturday, March 31.
