In a salute to the 175th anniversary of the University of Richmond, the latest Virginia Baptist Historical Society’s annual journal, The Virginia Baptist Register, features three articles examining the role 19th-century Baptists played in the founding of that institution.

Jeter, Robert and Charles Ryland and James Thomas Jr. to ensure the success of first the Virginia Baptist Seminary and then Richmond College is presented by Fred Anderson, executive director of the VBHS. In this article, the names behind the original buildings on the current campus are given life.
