RICHMOND, Va.—A three-day retreat this month will offer both laypersons and ministers a balanced rhythm of prayer and meditation, cognitive learning and practical physical work.
“Unforced Rhythms of Grace” is set for April 23-25 at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Conference Center near Lynchburg, Va. It is coordinated by Randy Ashcraft, pastor in residence at the Virginia Baptist Mission Board.
Facilitators include Ashcraft; Drexel Rayford, pastor of Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, Va.; Michael Sciretti, minister of spiritual formation at Freemason Street Baptist Church in Norfolk, Va.; and Sammy Williams, pastor of Northminster Baptist Church in Richmond, Va.
“During our days together, we will move from meditative worship to the study of practices for the Christian journey to practical but ‘wakeful’ work blazing trails around Eagle Eyrie’s Hoover Center or perhaps working on a new design for worship space,” said Ashcraft.
Cost of the retreat is $175 per person, which includes lodging at the Hoover Center, meals and program fees.
