On behalf of literally thousands of people across the Gulf region of our nation, I want to say a huge “Thank you” for your thoughtfulness in giving to bring help in the aftermath of Katrina.
It is impossible for me to describe for you the devastation that has taken place in our churches, our families, our schools and our communities; but I can assure you that your kindness will be channeled immediately into ways to touch lives in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Your gifts will bring physical help, emotional encouragement and spiritual hope to people across the entire area.
In addition to all you have seen of the devastation and despair in the city of New Orleans, 47 of our 82 Mississippi counties have been declared federal disaster counties. Mississippi faces monumental challenges to rebuild buildings and to restore lives and families. Thank you for your help and may the Lord richly bless you for making a difference in his Kingdom work.
