On Strength to Strength Sisters, a website for Anabaptist women, there is a snapshot of the large Kuruvilla family, with Laura and her husband Finny standing behind their eight children. Like many Mennonites, they are dressed conservatively. The girls wear long skirts, the mother’s head is covered, and the boys are clothed in old-fashioned, plain-colored baggy shirts.
