David Crocker, to First Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tenn., as interim pastor.

Autumn Culbreth, to First Baptist Church, Greensboro, N.C., as preschool director.

Shelby English, to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Macon, Ga., as children’s coordinator.

Karl Heilman, to Baptist General Association of Virginia, as field strategist for the Central Region.

Josh Hunt, to First Baptist Church, Anderson, S.C., as pastor.

Bart Morrison, to University Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, as pastor of worship ministries.

Elizabeth Nance-Coker, to Lakeview Baptist Church, Camden, S.C., as pastor.

Philip Nation, to the Baptist World Alliance, as director of advancement and global impact churches. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Bradenton, Fla.

Ellen Sechrest, resigning as minister of spiritual formations and missions at Boulevard Baptist Church, Anderson, S.C., to accept the position of manager of mission engagement for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

Jim Smith, to Smoke Rise Baptist Church, Stone Mountain, Ga., as pastoral care associate.

Tim Smith, resigning as president of the Baptist-affiliated University of Mobile, Ala.

Vince Smith, to First Baptist Church, San Angelo, Texas, as senior pastor. Since 2016 he has served there as minister to families.

Lori D. Spears, to American Baptist Seminary of the West, Berkley, Calif., as vice president of institutional advancement.

David Teem, to Immanuel Baptist Church, Newport News, Va., as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Steele, Mo.

Jim Townsend, to Huguenot Road Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as associate pastor for senior adults.

Craig Waddell, to Westhunt Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as interim pastor.

Brad Waggoner, named acting president and CEO of the SBC’s Lifeway Christian Resource, following the retirement of Thom Rainer.

Brian Williams, now serving as full-time field strategist to the Tidewater Region for the Baptist General Association of Virginia.

 

RETIREMENTS

Victoria Goff, retiring as national coordinator of volunteer mobilization and disaster relief ministries at the American Baptist Home Mission Societies, effective the end of April

Marcia Jessen, retiring as curriculum editor for Judson Press, the publishing ministry of the American Baptist Churches USA, at the end of June.

James R. Thomason, retiring after 23 years as pastor of First Baptist Church, Anderson, S.C.

Kurt Wachter, retiring as minister of music at First Baptist Church, Augusta, Ga., following four years there and more than 40 years in ministry.

Michael Williams, announcing plans to retire as executive minister of the American Baptist Churches of Michigan, effective Dec. 31.

James Wooten, announcing plans to retire as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Beaufort, S.C., in August.

Liz Britt, ordained to ministry on Feb. 24 by New Hope Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C.

Colin Holtz, ordained to ministry on March 3 by Commonwealth Baptist Church, Alexandria, Va.

Brad Kornegay, ordained to ministry on Feb. 24 by Winter Park Baptist Church, Wilmington, N.C.

Brittany McDonald-Null, ordained to ministry on Feb. 17 by First Baptist Church, Columbia, Mo.

David Nakmoo Jun, ordained to ministry on March 10 by International Community Church, Allston, Mass.

Frank Granger, minister of Christian community at First Baptist Church, Athens, Ga., receiving the Jack Nash Distinguished Educator Award from the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

Tyler Tankersley, pastor of First Baptist Church, Cape Girardeau, Mo., receiving the 2019 Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Young Baptist Leader Award.
