Perry Holleman, retiring as minister of education at First Baptist Church, Shelby, N.C.

DEATHS
John Bisagno, 84, died Aug. 5 in Nashville, Tenn. He was pastor of First Baptist Church, Houston, Texas for 30 years, and earlier was pastor of First Southern Baptist Church, Del City, Okla. He is preceded in death by his wife, Uldine. He is survived by a daughter, Melodye “Ginger” Dodd; two sons Timothy and Anthony; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Betty Doyen Dilday, 87, died Aug. 9 in Dallas, Texas. She was the wife of Russell Dilday, former president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2017 the R.H. Dilday family was awarded the title Baylor University’s First Family by the Baylor Line Foundation. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert; daughters, Nancy Duck and Ellen Garrett; nine grandchildren; and two-great grandchildren.
