STAFF CHANGES

Greg Crabtree, to Grassy Creek Baptist Church, Castlewood, Va., as pastor.

Allison Farrah, to First Baptist Church, Hamlet, N.C., as pastor.

J. R. Graybill, to Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Bedford, Va., as pastor. He comes from Mill Creek Baptist Church, Fincastle, Va., where he served as associate pastor.

Aimee Hobbs, to First Baptist Church, St. Petersburg, Fla., as pastor of children and young families.

Heath Kalhbau, resigning as pastor of Lebanon (Va.) Baptist Church to accept a pastorate in Georgia.

Bill Jones, concluding his tenure as executive director of Texas Baptists Committed. The organization will cease operation at the end of July.

Amy Grizzle Kane, to First Baptist Church, Greensboro, N.C., as associate pastor for missions and community. She comes from South Main Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, where she served as minister to adults/outreach.

Bob Landham, to New Vision Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, Tenn., as missions pastor. He comes from Deermeadows Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla., where he served as connections pastor.

Mark Olson, now serving as senior pastor of Haymarket (Va.) Baptist Church. He is president of the John Leland Center for Theological Studies in Arlington, Va., and will continue there as he goes through a transition to full-time pastor at Haymarket.

Roger Roller, to the Baptist General Association of Virginia, as minister in residence for evangelism. He is founder of the Roger Roller Evangelistic Association.

Eddie Smith, to Tuxedo Park Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Ind., as pastor.

Jill Sweetapple, to the American Baptist Historical Society, Valley Forge, Pa., as archivist. For the past 8 years she has worked as a reference archivist at Georgia Archives.

Elizabeth Terry, to East Cisco Baptist Church, Cisco, Texas, as pastor.

RETIREMENTS

Larry Coleman, retiring as pastor of Churchland Baptist Church, Chesapeake, Va.

Jim Ensor, retiring as pastor of First Baptist Church, Honaker, Va.

Glen Land, retiring as pastor of Rivermont Avenue Baptist Church, Lynchburg, Va., effective Dec. 31.

Ralph Manuel, retiring as minister of music at Heritage Baptist Church, Annapolis, Md.

Gerry Robinson, retiring as minister of music/worship & discipleship at Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., following 46 years of music ministry.

Vicky Thomas, retiring as director of choral music at First Baptist Church, Seattle, Wash., where she has served since 2006. 

ORDINATIONS

Shaunna Heule-Seifert, ordained to ministry on June 25 by Emmanuel Baptist Fellowship, Lexington, S.C.

Matt Jessee, ordained to ministry on May 21 by Swords Creek (Va.) Community Church, where he serves as minister of youth.

DEATHS

David Dodridge, 80, died July 13 in Howard, Ohio. He served for over 54 years at American Baptist churches in Ohio that included: Perry Chapel Baptist Church, Ostrander Baptist Church, Seville First Baptist Church, Newport Baptist Church, Brandon Baptist Church and Clear Fork Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Teresa; daughter, Julie Gonser; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

Marion H. Hare, 87, died July 10 in Greenville, S.C. He was pastor emeritus of Augusta Road Baptist Church in Greenville, having served as senior pastor there from 1961 until he retired in 1994. Prior to that he was pastor of Welcome Baptist Church, Anderson, S.C. He served on several boards and agencies of the Southern Baptist Convention and was trustee of Anderson University and the Baptist Courier. He is survived by his wife, Wilma; two sons, Phillip and Gregory; two daughters, Julie H. Robinson and Lori H. Peterman; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

David F. White Jr., 87, died July 12, 2017, in Anderson, S.C. He was a professor of religion at the University of Richmond, Va., and Clemson (S.C.) University. He was pastor of Forest Baptist Church, Upperco, Md., Weatherford Memorial and New Vision Baptist churches, Richmond, Va., and interim pastor of First Baptist Church, Westminster, S.C., and Beaverdam Baptist Church, Fairplay, S.C. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; six children, Mary Mac Klimack; Jacque Lynn Davison; David F. White, III; John S. White; Elizabeth Louise Dosher; and Stephen B. White; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
