RICHMOND, Va. — Two new regular columnists were added at the beginning of 2012 to the Religious Herald’s community of opinion writers.
Alex Gallimore is associate pastor for youth at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Mount Airy, N.C., and is in his final year at Wake Forest University’s School of Divinity. Gallimore will explore the role of Baptists in a postmodern world.
Lisa Cole Smith is pastor of Convergence, a Baptist community of faith in Alexandria, Va., and a trustee of the Religious Herald. She will write about the intersection of Christian faith and the arts.
Gallimore and Smith join the Herald’s other regular columnists — Fred Anderson, who writes on Baptist heritage; Bill Wilson, who examines congregational health; John Chandler, who explores faith trends; and Winn Collier, who reviews new books and music — as well as editor Jim White, whose editorial appears in each print issue. All opinion pieces also are posted on the Herald’s website at www.religiousherald.org.
