STAFF CHANGES

Rothangliani Chhangte, to American Baptist Home Mission Societies, as special assistant to the executive director for strategic priorities and relationships.

Richard Crooks, to First Baptist Church, Fremont, Neb., as pastor.

Robert “Bob” Guffey, to Freemason Street Baptist Church, Norfolk, Va., as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Conway, S.C.

Nina Ramsingh Hamilton, to Webster Groves Baptist Church, St. Louis, Mo., as pastoral intern.

David J. Hill, to Keystone Baptist Church, Lynchburg, Va., as pastor.

Rebecca “Becky” Hoffman, to American Baptist International Ministries, as colleague in mission. She will be a key resource for ministry with vulnerable children.

Karl Hoyer, to Orchard Drive Baptist Church, Bassett, Va., as interim pastor.

Josh Jones, to Bethel Baptist Church, Salem, Va., as interim youth minister.

Brian Kaylor, to Word & Way, a Missouri Baptist publication, as editor, effective Jan. 1. He will continue to serve as associate director for Churchnet, a Baptist network in Missouri, also based in Jefferson City.

John Partise, to First Baptist Church, Ilion, N.Y., as pastor.

Danny Patterson, to Little Elam Baptist Church, Charles City, Va., as pastor.

Rebecca Sommons, to First Baptist Church, Manchester Center, N.H., as pastor.

Mark Stauffer, to First Baptist Church, Bordentown, N.J., as pastor.

Sarah Ellen Strosahi-Kagi, to American Baptist Home Mission Societies, as national coordinator for emerging leaders and scholarship programs.

Andy Sutton, to Trinity Baptist Church, Hanover, N.H., as pastor. 

RETIREMENTS

Steve Allsbrook, announcing plans to retire as director of missions of Dover Baptist Association, Glen Allen, Va., effective June 30, 2017.

Neville Callam, announcing plans to retire as general secretary of the Baptist World Alliance, effective Dec. 31, 2017.

Ann Charlescraft, retiring as chaplain at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, Va.

Don Rhoton, retiring after 33 years as pastor of Smithfield (Va.) Baptist Church, effective Feb. 28, 2017.

ORDINATIONS

Elizabeth Corney, ordained to ministry on Nov. 12 by Wake Forest Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, N.C.

Carrie Nettles, ordained to ministry on Nov. 13 by First Baptist Church, Greenville, S.C.

DEATH

Cindy Alford Vestal, 49, died Nov. 14 in Wake Forest, N.C. She was involved in starting the Kingdom Builders ministry in Georgia and South Carolina with other youth ministers. She served in ministry to students at First Baptist Church, Boone, N.C., and Greystone Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., as long as her health would allow. She is the daughter of Bobby Alford and Linda Alford Port. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant daughter, Casey Elise. She is survived by her husband, John; and son, Charlie.
