“What Mean These Stones” is the lead article in the forthcoming issue of the Virginia Baptist Register, the annual journal of the Virginia Baptist Historical Society. Stories are told of the memorials, monuments and markers scattered across Virginia to honor the 18th-century Baptists who helped secure religious liberty.
Also included is the transcription of the early 19th-century journal kept by a Virginia Baptist minister, William Young Hiter.
The 2009 issue will be mailed later in the year to all annual members of the Virginia Baptist Historical Society. It is expected that copies will be available at the annual meeting of the BGAV. Copies may be ordered at $12, including shipping and handling, from Virginia Baptist Historical Society, P.O. Box 34, University of Richmond, VA 23173.
