MISSIONS MOMENT: The Fellowship Club of Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Mechanicsville made gurney covers, tote bags, pillows and lap quilts for the McGuire Veterans Hospital. This is one of the many projects under the direction of Mae Antkievicz, the church's missions director. EVENTS

• The Resource Center,1202 Wilmington Ave., Richmond, will hold its second annual “Interesting Women” event, a brunch celebrating Women's History Month, on Sat., March 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Honored guest will be Chief Anne Richardson, chief of the Rappahannock Indian Tribe. Reservations would be helpful, but not required. Call 804-358-8306 or toll-free 888-241-5132.

• Louisa Church, Louisa, and Chrestone, LLL, will sponsor a “Grieving Grandparents Workshop” on March 9 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Louisa Church. Cost is $20 per person/$30 per couple. For more information and to register, call 540-292-4383.

• The Children of the World International Choir will be in concert at Old Powhatan Church, Powhatan, on March 26 at 7 p.m.

Surry Church, Surry, will host the gospel group New Journey featuring Ray Bennett on Sun., March 30 at 5 p.m.

MISSIONS MOMENT: On January 26, 15 youth and 25 adults of Main Street Baptist Church in Emporia cooked and packed 921 pounds of barbecue as a fundraiser for the youth of the church to take a missions trip to West Virginia.
