Nina Maples, concluding her tenure as senior pastor of Highland Baptist Church, Louisville, Ky. , effective May 20. She has served at Highland Baptist since 1998 and became pastor in January.
Christy McMillin-Goodwin, to First Baptist Church, Front Royal, Va., as pastor. She comes from Oakland Baptist Church, Rock Hill, S.C., where she was associate minister for education and missions.
Christopher McNair, to Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, Texas, as provost.
Sly Samudre, concluding his tenure as minister of students and contemporary worship at First Baptist Church, Springfield, Va., effective mid-summer. He will become a church planter.
Charlotte Schuhle, to Broadus Memorial Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, Va., as worship leader at its Hebron campus.
Kyle Tubbs, to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Decatur, Ga., in full-time position devoted to expanding the New Church Starts Initiative. He is a CBF church starter and lead pastor of Peace of Christ Church, Round Rock, Texas.
Marty Watts, to Vestavia Hills Baptist Church, Birmingham, Ala., as minister of music, effective in June. He comes from First Baptist Church, Griffin, Ga., where he was minister of music.
Aaron “Moses” Wheeler, to The Bridge Network of Churches, Chesapeake, Va., as pastoral liaison and prayer coordinator. He is pastor emeritus of Mountaintop Baptist Church in Chesapeake.
RETIREMENT
Nancy Ammerman, retiring as scholar of religion at Boston University School of Theology.
Jim Nelson, retiring as pastor of First Baptist Church, Rockingham, N.C., effective May 31. He has been pastor there since 2009.
James R. Smith, retiring as president of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Foundation, Decatur, Ga., where he has served for eight years.
