Currently he is manager of biblical scholarship and integrated training for the Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship at American Bible Society, Philadelphia, Pa.

Frank Broome, retiring after 20 years as executive coordinator of Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Georgia.
Vicky McCullough, retiring after 22 years as director of children’s ministries at First Baptist Church, Aiken, S.C.
William Turner Jr., retiring as James T. and Alice Mead Cleland Professor of the Practice of Preaching at Duke Divinity School, Durham, N.C.
David Wheeler, retiring as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Portland, Oregon.

DEATHS
David Earl Potts, 67, died March 28 in Birmingham, Ala. He was president of Judson College, Marion, Ala., for 27 years. He was a founding board member of Sowing Seeds of Hope and a former president of Alabama Possible. He is survived by his wife, Beth; daughters, Kristin Helton and Shannon Potts; and eight grandchildren.
George J. Spencer, 86, died April 4 in Penn Yan, N.Y. He was ordained to ministry in Iowa by the Mid-American Baptist Churches and gave 42 years to rural church ministry in 10 churches in five states. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons, Jeremy and Jonathan; daughter, Sarah Yoder; and four grandchildren.
Ronald E. Vallet, 88, died April 8 in Syracuse, N.Y. He was pastor at numerous churches in New York. A gifted leader in stewardship, he served in that capacity with American Baptist Churches of New York State, American Baptist Churches USA, the National Council of Churches and the Ecumenical Stewardship Center. He was predeceased by two children. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; daughters, Heather Richards and Kristen Vallet; a son, Ronald; and 10 grandchildren.
Nancy Elizabeth “Beth” Rector Wright, 73, died March 28 in Littleton, Colo. She had served as pastor of Adams Grove Baptist Church, Emporia, Va., and on the staff of Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church, Richmond, Va. She is survived by a daughter; two sons; and several grandchildren.
