STAFF CHANGES

Janie Adams, to First Baptist Church, West Jefferson, N.C., as music ministry director.

Adam Denny, to North Run Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as senior pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Tignall (Ga.) Baptist Church.

Cale Duncan, to Round Hill (Va.) Baptist Church, as associate pastor. He comes from Waterstone Church, Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Bill Gabbard, to Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, Atlanta, Ga., as minister of music, effective in July. He is retiring from service as Sergeant Major in the United States Army.

Alisha Gordon, to Riverside Church, New York City, N.Y., as executive minister of programs. She currently serves as executive for spiritual growth at United Methodist Women in New York City.

David John Hailey, to First Baptist Church, Oak Park, Ill., as senior pastor.

Don Harvey, to First Baptist Church, Clemmons, N.C., as interim pastor.

Dirk Hill, to First Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as pastor of the Deaf Mission.

Sarah Lusche, to Hyde Park Union Church, Chicago, Ill., as co-pastor.

Mia Michelle McLain, to Myers Park Baptist Church, Charlotte, N.C., as associate minister, effective April 14.

Anna Moxley, to Yates Baptist Church, Durham, N.C., as minister of music and worship, effective April 1. Previously she was interim director of music ministries at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Chapel Hill, N.C.

Richard Phillips, completing his service as interim pastor at First Baptist Church, Gainesville, Fla.

Wes Richardson, to First Baptist Church, Lexington, N.C., as interim minister of music.

Lane Riley, to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina, as associate coordinator. She has served as director of Delta Hands for Hope, a CBF Mississippi and CBF Together for Hope rural development coalition.

Stephanie Schneider, to American Baptist Churches of New York State, as director of the American Baptist Youth Convention. She is pastor of Village Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Glens Falls, N.Y.

 

RETIREMENTS

Timothy Paul Banks, retiring as choirmaster at Southside Baptist Church, Birmingham, Ala., effective May 1.

Pamela Chisholm, retiring as pastor of Greenbrier Baptist Church, Annandale, Va., where she has served since 2009.

David Clay, retiring as pastor of Amherst (Va.) Baptist Church.

Kenneth Lance, retiring as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Salisbury, N.C., effective May 1.

Lee B. Spitzer, announcing plans to retire as general secretary of American Baptist Churches USA, effective Dec. 31.

David Woody, retiring as minister of faith development at Providence Baptist Church, Charleston, S.C., where he has served for 16 years.

 

DEATH

Stanley Eugene Cover, 88, died Jan. 21 in North Richardson, Texas. He had served as pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Owasso, Okla.; First Baptist Church, Webb City, Mo.; First Baptist Church, Miami, Okla.; Community Baptist Church, Tulsa, Okla.; and First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley. He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Hallcroft; a son, Tim; and two grandchildren.

Victor Davis, 30 years as pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church (Fairmount), Richmond, Va.

Eric Goforth, 25 years as pastor of Chancellor Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, Va.

Layne Wallace, 10 years as pastor of Rosemary Baptist Church, Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
