RETIREMENTS
Ann Posey, retiring after nearly 40 years as organist and worship and music associate at Second Baptist Church, Liberty, Mo.
Wayne Yawn, retiring as senior pastor of The United Baptist Church, Annandale, Va., effective Jan. 6.
ORDINATIONS
Tiffani Harris, ordained to ministry on Sept. 23 by DaySpring Baptist Church, Waco, Texas.
Fran Pratt, ordained to ministry on Sept. 2 by Peace of Christ Church, Round Rock, Texas, where she serves as pastor for worship and liturgy.
DEATHS
Gail O’Day, 63, died Sept. 22 in Winston-Salem, N.C. She is a former dean and professor of New Testament at Wake Forest University School of Divinity. She became dean in 2010 after serving as professor, scholar and dean at several other schools. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Edward Frank; her mother and four sisters.
Ronald Keaton, 81, died Sept. 13 in Buffalo, N.Y. He was the long-time pastor of Broad Street Baptist Church, Tonawanda, N.Y., and then St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in North Tonawanda. He is predeceased by a son, Mark. He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son, Paul; a daughter, Rebekah Ayn; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Kevin D. Rose, 58, died Sept. 25 in Indianapolis, Ind. He was minister of discipleship and mission at Cumberland First Baptist Church, Indianapolis, where he ministered for three decades. He was past president of Educational Ministries for American Baptist Churches USA and held leadership positions with both the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists and the Interfaith Coalition on Nondiscrimination. He is survived by his husband, Dan Von Pein.
