STAFF CHANGES

John Eklund to Chepachet (R.I.) Union Church, as full-time settled pastor.

Katie Kuhl, concluding her tenure as children’s director at First Baptist Church, Scottsdale, Ariz., to relocate to Hawaii. 

RETIREMENTS

Allen Baker, retiring after 30 years as minister of discipleship at First Baptist Church, Lee’s Summit, Mo.

Terry Bertrand, retiring after 21 years as associate pastor of administration at First Baptist Church, Arlington, Texas.

Edward B. “Ed” Eller, retiring as organist at Abingdon (Va.) Baptist Church after playing for 52 years.

John Fulcher, retiring as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Martinsville, Va.

Ray Hatton, retiring after 31 years of ministry at First Baptist Church Memphis, Tenn. He began his tenure as minister of music and most recently served as minister of administration and senior adults.

Eddy Hallock, retiring as minister of missions and evangelism at Tallowood Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, where he has served since 2004.

Brian McCartney, retiring after 40 years in ministry and 14 years as minister of education at First Baptist Church, Griffin, Ga., effective April 30. 

DEATH

Charles P. Anderson Jr., 85, died Jan. 7 in Madison Heights, Va. He was pastor to churches in Virginia for over 50 years, including First Baptist Church in Monroe and Winfall Baptist Church in Gladys. He served as president of several ministerial associations and on the Virginia Baptist General Board. He is survived by his wife, Betty; a daughter, Sandra A. Lipscomb; four grandsons; and 10 great-grandchildren.
