STAFF CHANGES

Jeremy Bell, to North American Baptist Fellowship, as general secretary. Most recently he was executive minister of the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada.

Bert Browning, to River Road Church, Baptist, Richmond, Va., as interim minister of pastoral care.

Tamera Burkholder, to Falling River Baptist Church, Brookneal, Va., as minister of music.

Kyle Caudle, to First Baptist Church, Winchester, Va., as associate pastor.

Barbara Filling, to Harmony Grove Baptist Church, Topping, Va., as interim pastor.

Chris Handrich, to Second Baptist Church, Liberty, Mo., as associate pastor of music and worship. He comes from First Baptist Church, Frederick, Md., where he was worship pastor.

Evan Henson, to First Baptist Church, Lubbock, Texas, as minister to students. He comes from First Baptist Church, Duncanville, Texas, where he was student pastor.

Bill Prather, now serving as pastor of First Baptist Church, Omaha, Neb. Previously he was pastor of American Baptist Church, Fort Collins, Co.

Nick Sprague, to Susquehanna Baptist Church, Independence, Mo., as youth minister.

Lynn Sullivan, now serving as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Cuba., N.Y. Previously she was pastor of First Baptist Church, Ogdensburg, N.Y.

Jon Wymer, to Gibbon (Neb). Baptist Church, as pastor, effective in February.

RETIREMENTS

Dan Bagby, retiring as minister of pastoral care at River Road Church, Baptist, Richmond, Va.

Brian McCartney, retiring after nearly 14 years as minister of education at First Baptist Church, Griffin, Ga., effective April 30.

Ted and Mary Martha Reed, retiring as minister of music and worship and music ministry accompanist, respectively, at Yates Baptist Church, Durham, N.C., effective May 6.

Cathy Tamsberg, retiring as associate pastor of Pullen Memorial Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C.

ORDINATIONS

Bethany Busby, ordained to ministry by Bosqueville Baptist Church, Waco, Texas, on Jan. 21.

Alissia J. Thompson, ordained to ministry on Jan. 7 by Community Church of Barrington, Ill. 

DEATH

Doris Anne “Dodie” Younger, 93, died on Dec. 25 in Glen Ridge, N.J. She was general director for Church Women United, a national ecumenical organization, from 1983-89. She also served as executive director of American Baptist Women. Following retirement she was trustee of the New York Theological Seminary, as well as interim director for the Commission on Ministry of the American Baptist Churches and trustee of Senior Friends of the World Student Christian Federation. She is preceded in death by her husband, George. She is survived by two daughters, Judith and Dana; two sons, Stephen and Samuel; and 10 grandchildren.
