STAFF CHANGES

Cynthia Aulds, concluding her tenure as missions coordinator at Sugar Land (Texas) Baptist Church.

Danielle Bridgeforth, to First Baptist Church at Clarendon, Arlington, Va., as pastor.  She is director of enrollment and development at the John Leland Center for Theological Studies, Arlington, Va.

John C. Carroll, to First Baptist Church, Woodruff, S.C., as minister of music.

David Chapman, to Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as interim pastor.

Michael Cheuk, to Peakland Baptist Church, Lynchburg, Va., as interim pastor.

Stephanie Coyne, to Madison (Ga.) Baptist Church, as minister of youth and children.

Michael Furr, to First Baptist Church, Boone, N.C., as associate pastor and minister with youth.

W. Hulitt Gloer, to Spring Creek Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, Okla., as traditional interim pastor.

Alan Greenwood, to First Baptist Church, Arkadelphia, Ark., as student pastor.

Chris Hilliard, to Wendell (N.C.) Baptist Church, as pastor. He comes from First Baptist Church, Quitman, Ga., where he was lead pastor.

Kate Honeycutt, to Huguenot Road Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as interim associate pastor of student ministries.

Kim Johnson, to Blackwater Baptist Association, Windsor, Va., as administrator and director of disaster relief. Nancy Moore has resigned from this position, effective Sept. 27.

Kasey Jones, to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Decatur, Ga., as associate coordinator of strategic operations and outreach. Previously she served for more than 10 years as pastor of National Baptist Memorial Church, Washington, D.C.

Toya Lynn Richards, to Alliance of Baptists, Atlanta, Ga., as communications specialist.

Harry Riggs, to American Baptist Churches of Connecticut, as executive minister. For the past 10 years he has been pastor of First Baptist Church, Lincoln, Neb.

Matt Sapp, to Central Baptist Church, Newman, Ga., as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Heritage Fellowship, Canton, Ga.

Jeremy Sledge, to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, Va., as youth minister.

Layne Smith, to Spring Creek Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, Okla., as transitional facilitator.

Kevin Vandiver, concluding his tenure as associate minister of youth and young adults at Riverside Baptist Church in New York City. He was called by the Lutheran Church (ECLA) to an existing church redevelopment in Harlem, N.Y.

Ryne Weitzel, to Crossroads Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas, as minister to young adults.

Chris West, to Hope Valley Baptist Church, Durham, N.C., as minister of youth. He is a student at Campbell University Divinity School.

ORDINATIONS

Katheryn House, ordained to ministry by First Baptist Church, Jamaica Plain, Mass.

Nathan Huguley, ordained to ministry on Sept. 10 by Immanuel Baptist Church, Nashville, Tenn. 

DEATH

Franklin Thomas Fowler, 100, died Sept. 10 in Richmond, Va. He and his wife, Dorcas, were appointed as medical missionaries to Paraguay in 1947 by the SBC International (then Foreign) Mission Board. Under his leadership the Baptist Medical Center in Asuncion, Paraguay, was founded. In 1956 they accepted an assignment in Mexico and in 1960 they moved to Richmond where he served as the Mission Board’s first medical consultant. During his tenure at the home office, he was instrumental in starting the Baptist Medical/Dental Fellowship, which remains active today. He is preceded in death by his wife.
