Roy Moore election would legitimize guilt for everyone except the perpetrator

To the editor:

I’ve read several of the news and opinion articles here that present great ideas and thoughts, including the hypocrisy of electing Roy Moore senator in Alabama. However, I’m concerned that in the end he will be elected anyway. What his victory will legitimize is laying guilt upon everyone but the perpetrator. It will also give more power to those who don’t allow any deviation from thought-up theologies that create a destructive unity and symbols for years to come.

 Susan Glass, Kingsport, Tenn.
