STAFF CHANGES

Ashley Boschen, to Shalom Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, Va., as minister to children.

Nick Briggs, to First Baptist Church, Scottsdale, Ariz., as director of youth and grow groups.

Lori Brown, to First Baptist Church, Plainview, Texas, as minister to university students.

Kurt Buchanan, to Remington (Va.) Baptist Church, as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Zoar Baptist Church, Locust Grove, Va.

Donnie Edmonds, to James Square Baptist Church, Lawrenceville, Va., as pastor.

Bob Ellinger, concluding his tenure as pastor of Hebron Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, Va., after 18 years there.

Joe McDowell, to First Baptist Church, South Hill, Va., as interim pastor.

Mary McMillan, to Jamaica Community Church, Jamaica, Vt., as pastor.

Marcus Pernell, to First Baptist Church at the Singing Bridge, Frankfort, Ky., as minister of youth.

Charity Roberson, to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina, as campus minister at East Carolina University. She has also been called as pastor of Mosaic Church, Clayton, N.C.

Wayne Santos, to United Church of Warner, N.H., as interim pastor.

 

ORDINATIONS

Kurt Bowman, ordained to ministry on Dec. 16 by Purcellville (Va.) Baptist Church, where he serves as family pastor.

Blake Sherman, ordained to ministry on Dec. 16 by First Baptist Church, Woodway, Texas, where he serves as college minister.

Mark Tate, ordained to ministry by First Baptist Church, Woodway, Texas, on Dec. 16. He has served as associate youth minister since 2011.

Art Wellborn, ordained to ministry on Dec. 16 by First Baptist Church, Woodway, Texas, where he serves as worship associate.

 

DEATHS

Jeremy Wayne Martin, 44, died Dec. 15 in Columbus, Ind. He was pastor of Burney Baptist Church, Greensburg, Ind. He was licensed to Christian ministry in 2016 by First Baptist Church, Columbus, Ind. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; son, Jeremy; and step-daughter, Maggie.

Claude A. Pullis, 88, died Dec. 12 in Canandaigua, N.Y. In his 63 years of ministry, he served many American Baptist churches in New York and was active in the region with American Baptist Churches of New York State. He is survived by his wife, Esther; son, Stephen; daughter, Lynne Romeu; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
