STAFF CHANGES

Daniel Camp, to South Garland Baptist Church, Garland, Texas, as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Shiloh Baptist Church, Crawford, Texas.

Randy Clipp, to First Baptist Church, Clayton, N.C., as senior pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Monument Heights Baptist Church, Richmond, Va.

Jill Crainshaw, to Wake Forest School of Divinity, Winston-Salem, N.C., as vice dean for faculty development and academic initiatives. She has been on faculty there since 1999.

Danielle Glaze, to First Baptist Church, Teachey, N.C., as pastor.

John Hamilton, to Holiday Hills Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas, as pastor.

David Harris, to First Baptist Church, Syracuse, N.Y., as pastor.

Matthew Johnson, to Fernwood Baptist Church, Spartanburg, S.C., as pastor, effective June 17. He comes from the pastorate of Ridgewood Baptist Church, Louisville, Ky.

Jabulani McCallister, to Covenant Baptist Church, West Bloomfield, Mich., as pastor, effective July 21. He comes from the pastorate of Calvary Baptist Church, Providence, R.I.

Mike McCartney, concluding his tenure as pastor of Chester Gap (Va.) Baptist Church, to accept a call to Kentucky.

Mark Shideler, to Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, Va., as student pastor.

RETIREMENTS

Kathy Dobbins, retiring after 19 years as minister of spiritual formation at Smoke Rise Baptist Church, Stone Mountain, Ga.

Fran Morrison, retiring as minister of music at Myers Park Baptist Church, Charlotte, N.C.

Linda Pigott, retiring as associate pastor of discipleship and outreach at Central Baptist Church, Daytona Beach, Fla.

 

ORDINATIONS

Muriel Lasater, ordained to ministry on May 5 by First Baptist Church, Smithfield, N.C.

Demetrea ‘Meechie’ Williams, ordained to gospel ministry on May 26 by Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Birmingham, Ala.

 

DEATH

James Dwayne Martin, 75, died May 19 in Pittsburg, Texas. He was pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Vernon, Texas; First Baptist Church, Sweetwater, Texas; and First Baptist Church, Texas City. He was director of the human welfare coordinating board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas from 1984-1994, when he became executive director of North Dallas Shared Ministries. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff and Scott. He is survived by a sister, Verna Peterson; and Bette Miller, mother of their sons.
