STAFF CHANGES

Dirk Austin, concluding his tenure as associate minister of music for Antioch Baptist Church, Taylorsville, N.C.

Sarah Boberg, to Campbell University Divinity School, Buies Creek, N.C., as program coordinator for the boundary spanning leadership Lilly grant.

Jack Bodenhamer, to First Baptist Church, Temple, Texas, as interim teaching pastor.

David Brooks, to First Baptist Church, Rome, Ga., as senior pastor, effective the end of August. He comes from the pastorate of Edenton (N.C.) Baptist Church.

Jacob Capps, to First Baptist Church, Wallace, N.C., as associate pastor of family ministry.

Tim Christian, to Oak Level Baptist Church, Bassett, Va., as interim pastor.

Phil Christopher, to Center for Healthy Churches, Clemmons, N.C., as consultant. He retired in 2021 after 26 years as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas.

Daniel Crowther, to South Main Baptist Church, Pasadena, Texas, as senior pastor.

Evan Duncan, to the Baptist Church of West Chester, Pa., as senior pastor. He comes from First Baptist Church, Temple, Texas, where he was teaching and communications pastor.

Alex Farr, to First Baptist Church, Waxahachie, Texas, as family pastor.

Paul Fisher, to First Baptist Church, Farwell, Texas, as pastor. He comes from First Baptist Church, Burkburnett, Texas, where he was associate pastor.

Byron Harper, to First Baptist Church, Port Arthur, Texas, as pastor.

Brett Holmes, to Calder Baptist Church, Beaumont, Texas, as pastor. Most recently he was pastor of Azalea Baptist Church, Norfolk, Va.

April Kennedy, now serving as minister for abundant community at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Richmond, Va.

Vemi Mattson, to First Baptist Church, Vincentown, N.J., as interim pastor.

Mia Michelle McClain, to Riverside Baptist Church, Washington, D.C., as pastor.

Amy Starr Russell, to First Baptist Church, Greensboro, N.C., as associate pastor for children and families. She comes from First Baptist Church, Henderson, N.C., where she was associate minister.

Claire Sang, to Augusta Road Baptist Church, Greenville, S.C., as ministries coordinator.

Jeremy Shannon, to First Baptist Church, Williamsburg, Ky., as senior pastor. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Fort Thomas, Ky.

Jim White, to First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Va., as interim pastor.

 

RETIREMENTS

Steve Branch, retiring as pastor of missions and nurture for Lafayette Baptist Church, Fayetteville, N.C.

David Hardage, retiring after 10 years as executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, effective the fall of 2022.

Chuck Poole, retiring after 14 years as senior pastor of Northminster Baptist Church, Jackson, Miss., where he has served since 2007.

 

ORDINATIONS

Co’Relous Bryant, ordained to gospel ministry on July 10 by Metro Baptist Church, New York, N.Y.

Jeanette Cody, Richard Coleman, Joel McCauley and Arthurine Wright, ordained to gospel ministry by Greenforest Community Baptist Church, Decatur, Ga.
