STAFF CHANGES

Garrett Young Bowman, to First Baptist Church, South Boston, Va., as senior pastor. He comes from Southeast Baptist Church, Greensboro, N.C., where he was associate pastor of families and missions.

Kyle Caudle, to Piney Grove Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, N.C., as senior pastor. He comes from First Baptist Church, Winchester, Va., where he was associate pastor.

Danny Chisholm, to First Baptist Church, Clinton, Tenn., as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of University Heights Baptist Church, Springfield, Mo.

Matt Cook, to the Center for Healthy Churches, as full-time assistant director, effective Sept. 1. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Wilmington, N.C.

Adam Dooley, to Englewood Baptist Church, Jackson, Tenn. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Sunnyvale, Texas.

Megan Grant, to Lake Shore Baptist Church, Waco, Texas, as minister of children, youth and families.

David Hanks, to Iron Gate (Va.) Baptist Church, as pastor.

Eric Hicks, concluding his tenure as minister of music at First Baptist Church, Bristol, Va.

Bob Horner, to First Baptist Church, Cornelia, Ga., as interim pastor.

Chris Irving, to University Avenue Baptist Church, Honolulu, Hawaii, as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Gonzales, Texas.

Kylie Malone, to First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Ark., as university pastor.

Mary Richerson Mann, to Central Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as associate pastor for music and adult ministry, effective August 18. She comes from the pastorate of Westover Baptist Church, Richmond, Va.

Brad Martin, to Northside Baptist Church, Weatherford, Texas, as worship pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Shady Oaks Baptist Church, Hurst, Texas.

Jabulani McCalister, to Covenant Baptist Church, West Bloomfield, Mich., as senior pastor.

Nikita McCalister, concluding her tenure as associate executive minister for administration for the American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island.

Andy Muskrat, to First Baptist Church, Waco, Texas, as associate pastor, music and worship.

Lee Myers, to First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Ark., as student pastor.

Joan Ross, to Westbury Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, as minister to children.

Gavin Spell, to First Baptist Church, Wilmington, N.C., as minister to students.

Samuel Christian Still, to First Baptist Church, Elm Mott, Texas, as music minister.

Tambi Brown Swiney, concluding her tenure as associate pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church, Nashville, Tenn.

Ross Tarpley, to First Baptist Church, Austin, Texas, as minister of music, effective in August.

 

RETIREMENTS

Keith Alderman, retiring as pastor of First Baptist Church of Blakely, Ga.

Roger Rayl, retiring as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Ind.

Mike Smith, announcing plans to retire as pastor of Central Baptist Church, Fountain City, Tenn., effective Nov. 17.

Sonny Strange, retiring after 30 years as pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Jefferson City, Tenn.

 

ORDINATION

Karen Clifton, ordained to ministry on July 28 by First Baptist Church, Greenwood, Ind.

 

DEATH

Frank M. McAuley Jr., 72, died July 15 in Lansing, Mich. An American Baptist minister, he served several churches in Michigan, including First Baptist in Davison, Bethany Baptist in Waterford, Judson Memorial in Lansing, and The Peoples Church of East Lansing. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Stacey Sheiko and Erin McAuley; and two grandchildren.
