STAFF CHANGES

Phil Carpenter, to Ravensworth Baptist Church, Annandale, Va., as music minister.

Billy Craig, to First Baptist Church, Bassett, Va., as youth pastor.

Richard “Rick” Foster, to Mentow Baptist Church, Huddleston, Va., as interim pastor.

Leah Harlow, to Wake Forest Baptist Church, Wake Forest, N.C., as minister of youth and missions. She comes from Pathways Church in Gaithersburg, Md.

Lisa Williams Hood, to First Baptist Church, Lafayette, Ind., as pastor. She comes from First Baptist Church, Forest City, N.C., where she served as minister of youth and children.

Marv Knox, to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, as field coordinator of Fellowship Southwest. Since 1999 he has been editor of the Texas Baptist newspaper, Baptist Standard.

Bill Leathers, serving as interim minister of Emerywood Baptist Church, High Point, N.C.

Linda A. Livingstone, to Baylor University, Waco, Texas, as president, effective June 1. She currently is dean and professor of management at The George Washington University School of Business in Washington, D.C.

Lauren McCollister, to First Baptist Church, Clinton, N.C., as minister of music and director of children’s ministry.

Ron Lithgow, to First Baptist Church, Springfield, Va., as interim pastor.

Caleb Richardson, to Central Baptist Church, Carthage, Texas, as minister of children.

Ben Sturgis, to Shady Grove Baptist Church, Thaxton, Va., as pastor. 

RETIREMENT

Tillie Duncan, retiring as associate pastor of Sardis Baptist Church, Charlotte, N.C. 

ORDINATIONS

Lindsey Huggins, to be ordained to ministry on May 21 by Woodland Heights Baptist Church, Richmond, Va.

Katy Reed, ordained to ministry by First Baptist Church, Arlington, Texas, on April 19.

DEATHS

Thomas W. Forrest, 73, died April 7 in Hampton, Va. He was an educator in the public schools of Hampton and Newport News, Va., as well as a minister. He served in music ministry at Memorial Baptist, Stevens Memorial Baptist, Hilton Baptist and First Baptist, all in Newport News, Va.; First Baptist Church, Staunton, Va.; and West Hampton and Liberty Baptist, Hampton, Va. He is survived by his wife, Diane; four daughters, Elizabeth Jennings, Shelley Haywood, Emily Pritchett and Annie Michalec; and nine grandchildren.

Robert C. Massie, 84, died March 8 in Lynchburg, Va. He served as pastor of Shipman Baptist Church, Shipman, Va., for 40 years until retirement. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
