STAFF CHANGES

Denise Aanenson, to First Baptist Church, Mountlake, Wash., as pastor for the interim.

Thomas Allen, to Angier (N.C.) Baptist Church, as pastor. He comes from the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Rowland, N.C.

Rishawn Austin, to First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, Kansas, as pastor.

Seth Brown, to the Biblical Recorder, the newsjournal of North Carolina Baptists, as editor-president, effective June 1. Currently he serves as the organization’s content editor.

Erin Clarke, to First Baptist Church, Griffin, Ga., as minister of music, effective April 23.

Jacob Drake, to Central Baptist Church, Church Road, Va., as pastor, effective in May.

Rob Hatfield, to Central Baptist Church, Decatur, Ala., as senior pastor, effective in May. He comes from the pastorate of Spring Hill Baptist Church, Mobile, Ala.

Cory Hines, to Howard Payne University, Brownwood, Texas, as president, effective April 1. He comes from Dallas Baptist University, where he served as vice president for enrollment.

Scott Hudgins, to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina to direct its Helping Pastors Thrive program, effective April 1. For the past 12 years he served as assistant dean of the graduate school at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

Gordon Hutchins, to Grace Baptist Church, Tacoma, Wash., as pastor.

Karen Jones, to Boulevard Baptist Church, Anderson, S.C., as minister with adults and preschoolers.

Nate Marsh, to First Baptist Church, Topeka, Kansas, as senior pastor.

Wim Mauldin, to Freemont Baptist Church, Seattle, Wash., as pastor for the interim.

Michael Newheart, to First Baptist Church, Madison, Wis., as interim pastor.

John Pattison, to First Baptist Church, McPherson, Kansas, as senior pastor.

Dave Roberts, to First Baptist Church, Olympia, Wash., as pastor for the interim.

Stephanie Schneider, to American Baptist Churches of New York State, as youth program director. She is pastor of First Baptist Church, Glen Falls, N.Y., and Village Baptist Church, Fort Edward, N.Y.

Jeffrey Sholar, to Aversboro Road Baptist Church, Garner, N.C., as lead pastor. He comes from the pastorate of Cedar Falls Baptist Church, Fayetteville, NC.

Scott Simpson, to First Baptist Church, Garnett, Kansas, as pastor.

 

RETIREMENTS

Dennis Anderson, retiring after 34 years as associate pastor of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church, Birmingham, Ala.

Michael Cogdill, retiring as professor of pastoral ministries at Campbell University Divinity School. He was founding dean of the school in 1997.

Gerald Keown, retiring as associate dean of the School of Divinity at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C., where he has served since 1996.

William O’Brien, retiring as executive of the Gaston Christian Center, Dallas, Texas, effective May 1.

Betty Weaver, retiring as pastor or First Baptist Church, Center, Colo., where she has served since 2005.

 

ORDINATIONS

Ali Chappell DeHay, ordained to ministry on March 24 by Calvary Baptist Church, Waco, Texas.

Erica Saunders, ordained to the gospel ministry on March 24 by Wake Forest Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, N.C., where she serves as ministry intern.
