After nearly 40 years without significant repair, Bluefield College celebrated the completion of major renovations to its Harman Chapel and Performing Arts Center with a dedication ceremony April 15.
Alumni, trustees, dignitaries and supporters of the project joined the Bluefield College family on campus for the long-awaited dedication service that marked the completion of the first phase of the most significant overhaul to the Chapel since its creation in 1965.
The college began the multi-phase restoration project in 2002. Completed in the initial phase of renovations: the development of a new foyer for the building, the placement of new stage curtains in the main auditorium, the restoration of lower level classrooms, rehearsal rooms, bathrooms and small auditorium, and the installation of the building's first air conditioning system and replacement of its original heating system.
